#Set Up Your Overlay

4thRock uses a single overlay for your whole stream. You add it to OBS once as a Browser Source, and every widget you use - alerts, Translate, chat, media, giveaway, and goals - renders inside that one overlay. You build and arrange that overlay on the canvas in the Appearance page. You do not add a separate overlay per widget.

Before you start, make sure you have connected your platform.

#1. Copy your overlay URL

1. Open your 4thRock dashboard.
2. Go to Appearance.
3. Copy the overlay URL shown there.

The URL is personal to you and includes your overlay token. Always copy the exact URL from the dashboard - do not type it by hand.

#2. Add a Browser Source in OBS

1. In OBS, select the scene where you want your overlay.
2. Under Sources, click + and choose Browser.
3. Name the source (for example, "4thRock Overlay") and click OK.

#3. Paste the URL and size it

In the Browser Source properties:

1. Paste your overlay URL into the URL field.
2. Set Width and Height to match your canvas. For most streamers this is 1920 by 1080.
3. If you use TTS or alert sounds, make sure audio is enabled for the source so viewers hear it.
4. Click OK.

Your overlay now appears in the scene. Position and resize the Browser Source so it covers your full canvas, since widgets are placed inside the overlay rather than as separate sources.

#4. Position your widgets in Appearance

You arrange where each widget appears from the dashboard, not in OBS:

1. Return to Appearance in your dashboard.
2. Drag each widget to where you want it on screen, then resize it.
3. Changes apply to the live overlay.
