Chat Overlay

The Chat widget displays live chat from your connected platforms directly on your stream overlay. It supports multiple platforms simultaneously and is fully themeable to match your stream branding.

Adding Chat to Your Overlay

  1. Open the Compositor in the dashboard.
  2. Click Add Widget and select Chat.
  3. Drag and resize the chat box to fit your layout.
  4. Save your changes.

The chat widget will show messages from all connected platforms in real time.

Platform Support

Chat from all connected platforms is merged into a single feed by default:

  • Kick — full chat including emotes and badges
  • Twitch — chat with Twitch emotes and subscriber badges
  • YouTube — live chat during active streams
  • TikTok — live chat during TikTok live sessions

Platform badges (subscriber, moderator, VIP) are shown next to usernames where available.

Themes

The Chat widget comes with several built-in themes:

  • Default — clean, minimal card-style messages
  • Compact — smaller text, higher message density
  • Bubble — rounded message bubbles with colored backgrounds per user
  • Minimal — text-only, no backgrounds or borders

Select a theme in the Chat settings tab in the dashboard.

Live Preview

Changes in the dashboard update the overlay in real time. Open your overlay URL in a separate window (or check OBS) to preview how it looks as you tweak settings.

Filtering Chat

You can filter which messages appear in the chat overlay:

  • Hide commands — suppress messages starting with ! from appearing in the overlay.
  • Minimum account age — hide messages from very new accounts (Twitch).
  • Block specific words — combined with the moderation word filter.

Chat filtering settings are shared between the Chat widget and the Moderation section.
